Event description:
Artists are invited to submit works that interpret the theme of LOUD! through their own personal lens. LOUD! is an art exhibition that celebrates volume, intensity, and unapologetic expression.   Artists are invited to submit works that explore what it means to be heard—visually, emotionally, and conceptually—through bold color, assertive mark-making, personal subject matter, and dynamic use of materials. In this context, loud is not limited to sound; it manifests as confidence, disruption, excess, and presence.

For the viewer, stepping into LOUD! is like walking into a space that refuses to whisper. Viewers will be met with artwork that pulses with intensity—pieces that command attention through color, scale, texture, and emotional force. The exhibition creates an atmosphere where every work feels alive. Ultimately, the viewer will experience an environment charged with presence. LOUD! is not a passive exhibition; it’s a conversation that meets you at full volume and asks you to listen with your eyes, your emotions, and your whole body.

Included will be an opportunity for the viewer to experience their own volume in our Silent Dance Party Installation with the California Room at the Gallery.   Guests will be invited to bring your headphones to experience with your own sounds.

Digital Art:
In addition to the call for art above, Cali Commons is seeking digital /film artist(s) whose work refuses to whisper for a digital installation throughout the show via our projection system.   This can be for the duration of the show, or a featured special event.  We would love to hear your ideas and further explore with you this unique show experience, please reach out to us at events@calicommons.com

Art Talk:
We’re seeking voices interested in leading a short talk during the exhibition. Share your insights, creative process, tools, experiences, or professional resources with fellow artists and attendees. If you’d like to participate as a speaker, please indicate your interest on the form below.

This is a two week show, packed with fantastic events both weekends with several hands on, collaborative experiences!
